At MedAesthetics by AM, our wrinkle relaxer treatments use Botulinum Toxin-A (such as Botox® and other leading brands) to soften and prevent fine lines and wrinkles — helping you look refreshed, rested, and confident without changing your natural expression.

Our goal is always a natural, balanced result — never frozen. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your unique concerns and tailor your treatment to align with your goals, whether that’s prevention, subtle rejuvenation, or targeted correction.

Beyond Aesthetics

Wrinkle relaxers can do more than smooth lines. They’re also highly effective for:

  • TMJ dysfunction / teeth grinding (bruxism)

  • Excess sweating (armpits, scalp, face)

  • Migraine relief

  • Downturned mouth or dimpled chin

  • Gummy smile correction

  • Neck (platysmal) bands

Why Choose MedAesthetics by AM

Millions of people trust Botulinum Toxin-A treatments every year for safe, effective results — yet it’s still one of the most misunderstood aesthetic procedures. In expert hands, these treatments simply refresh your appearance, not change your face.

We take time to assess your anatomy, discuss your goals, and design a treatment plan that enhances your features while maintaining movement and expression — the way aesthetic medicine should be.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Located in Council Bluffs, our practitioner at MedAesthetics by AM is qualified to expertly place Botox injections. Botox treatment works to help chronic migraines, neck spasms, facial wrinkles, and more.
Botox injections are a cosmetic treatment as well as a medical treatment. Muscle relaxants can contribute to a youthful appearance or even treat pain in the face and body.

  • We often hear that patients are hesitant with botox because they are concerned they will look “fake”. We are not interested in getting you on the chair within 5 minutes, jabbing you, and taking your money. That is not medical care as it should be!

This treatment has been oversimplified, partly by many poorly trained individuals taking their hand to it. Understanding how the muscles work in harmony with one another in any given face allows better selection of points and doses and thus a truly natural-looking result.

Having a licensed prescriber treat you just means it is legal; having an expert treat you means you give yourself the best chance of achieving your maximum aesthetic potential.

With Botox treatment at MedAesthetics by AM, your friends and colleagues will know you’ve done something — they just won’t know what. Let us introduce you to a truly expert approach to this popular treatment.

  • Botox treatment offers numerous benefits that make it a preferred choice for many seeking anti-ageing solutions:
Reduces wrinkles and fine lines: By relaxing facial muscles, Botox effectively diminishes the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, giving your skin a smoother look.

    • Quick and easy treatment: Botox injections are a swift procedure, often completed in just a few minutes, making it a convenient option for those with busy schedules.

    • Minimally invasive: As a non-surgical treatment, Botox requires no downtime or recovery, allowing you to resume your daily activities immediately.

    • Customizable: Each Botox treatment is tailored to address specific facial concerns, ensuring that the results align with your aesthetic goals.

    • Long-lasting results: Enjoy the benefits of Botox for several months, making it a practical and effective solution for maintaining a youthful appearance.

  • Botox works by temporarily relaxing the facial muscles that cause wrinkles and fine lines. When injected into a muscle, Botox blocks the nerve signals that trigger muscle contractions. This relaxation of the muscle smooths out wrinkles and fine lines, resulting in a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

Commonly treated areas include forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet, making Botox a versatile option for various facial concerns.

  • Botox is a tried and tested way to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Botox is one of the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatments available today.

Our aesthetic treatments at MedAesthetics by AM are carefully tailored to your face, targeting specific muscles to achieve the results you’re looking for. Our process ensures you avoid an overdone or frozen look.

  • This happens when the muscles pull the upper lip up so high, you can see the upper gums. A little Botox in just the right spot lowers the lip to cover the gums when the person smiles. It often results in the lips looking a bit larger as well.

  • An FDA trial evaluating the safety and efficacy of Botox in moderate to severe lateral canthal lines (crow’s feet) found that those with severe sun damage and resulting skin laxity needed more than just Botox. Adding filler to smooth the deeper lines, or resurfacing the area with laser will often be necessary for older patients and those with a history of tanning.

  • There are now 3 neuromodulators on the market in the US that are FDA approved for glabellar frown lines (and Botox is FDA approved for lateral canthal lines or “crow’s feet”). Botox has been around the longest for cosmetic use (since 2002). Then came Dysport, which seems to have a larger area of effect than Botox. Many who have tried Dysport do end up going back to Botox. Recently, Xeomin got FDA approval. It does not have the complexing proteins found in the other 2 products, thus they call it more “pure”. Ultimately, if you love Botox, it is perfectly fine to stick with what works. If, however, you feel the Botox does not give you the result you like, or it doesn’t last more than 3 months, perhaps you should give the new product, Xeomin, a try.

  • Botox can be a very effective treatment for those that suffer from axillary sweating (hyperhidrosis). It is typically saved as a last resort option for patients that have tried topical and oral treatments, such as Drysol and Robinul, and failed to achieve results from these conventional therapies. Patients can expect to have significant axillary sweat reduction for up to 6 months.

  • Botox is a very tolerable procedure. In our office we use a topical lidocaine based numbing cream that we apply to patients about five to ten minutes before they are treated to make injections more tolerable. The needle used to inject Botox is very small and barely noticed during injections.

  • As with all medical procedures, it is important that you extensively explain your medical history, as well as any medications that you are taking, with your physician prior to undergoing treatment. Your physician will provide you with the Botox medication guide, as well as its FDA black box warning, to review before treatment. You and your physician will be able to decide if you are a good and safe candidate for Botox injections in order to limit any potential side effects associated with treatment.

  • Botox is best viewed as a wrinkle maintenance treatment. To preserve smooth, natural results, injections are typically repeated every 3–6 months. Over time, your facial muscles may “learn” to relax, so lines appear softer even as the product wears off. While this can extend the time between sessions, ongoing treatments are needed to maintain your refreshed look.

  • Before your treatment, it’s important to share your full medical history and current medications with your provider. You’ll review the Botox® medication guide and FDA safety information together to ensure you’re a safe, well-suited candidate and to minimize any potential side effects.
